Class Content

Learn about the making of Samgye-tang (Ginseng Chicken Soup). During steamy summer days, the Koreans try to survive the summer heat with hot stamina food. This famous Korean summer dish which is said to give stamina is highly recommended for those new to Korean food. The body cavity of a small chicken is stuffed with glutinous rice, young ginseng shoots and jujubes. The chicken is then boiled in a clear stock and served in an individual earthenware pot. Enjoy this dish and also benefit from the healing properties of ginseng. How to eat: Taste the soup first. If it tastes too plain, you may add some salt. When tasting the chicken meat, use salt and pepper on the table for seasoning. Course venue: Ju Shin Jung Sam Gye Tang Korean Restaurant

Trainer

Yun Bo Yong Yun Bo Yong was a flight attendant with Korean Air from 1994 to 1999. She continued to hone her skills in the service industry as a manager in Tony Roma’s Korea from 2000 to 2001. She now runs her own Korean restaurant, Ju Shin Jung.
